All tracks written on the sovereign lands of the Awabakal and Worimi peoples by Rort Menace. We wish to pay our respects to Aboriginal elders past, present and emerging in consideration of a rich cultural storytelling and musical tradition that extends beyond 75,000 years through to time immemorial.

We wish to respectfully provide a content warning for 'Turea' due to the confronting and sensitive nature of the topics discussed. 'Royal Permission' refers to the injustice experienced by Aboriginal peoples in the so-called Australian 'justice' system. We dedicate this song to the over 474 Aboriginal people who have lost their lives since the royal commission into Aboriginal deaths in custody in 1991, and their families who continue to fight for them.

The title of our EP 'Turea' comes from the main street in Blacksmiths, NSW. The street, 'Turea', was named in 1948 after the Awabakal word for Bream (type of fish)- as recorded by Reverend Threlkeld, a notorious English missionary. We pay our respects to the NSW AECG and other First Nations groups and individuals who work hard to ensure the survival and preservation of language knowledge.
